I’m not really sure what I’m going to do with this site, right now it’s basically just a place holder, and a staging area for a few unrelated programming and web developing projects that I’m working on. Until I get a better idea, I’ve decided to post some solutions to the project euler challenges. For those of you that may not have heard of it, project euler is a math and programming challenge site. They have a couple hundred challenges there for people that are interested in math or programming.
I personally turn to challenge sites like that whenever I’m trying to teach myself a new programming language, just because it’s a lot more fun than trying to memorize random syntax etc just for the sake of knowing it. Using a new language to solve a problem kind of guides your study a bit which hammers in the details the way only hands on experience can, and also keeps you entertained a little better than typing along to the same “Hello World!” example programs that are in every book. I love books, but an hour figuring something out is well worth a couple of hours reading for me.
